When you’ve been a K-Pop fan as long as I have, finding something that truly amazes you is hard. And yet, every single time I watch “I’mma Be” by XLOV, my heart feels like it’s about to leap out of my chest.

The fact that there is a group that is unapologetic about their self-expression and, while niche, is breaking into the mainstream and even winning music shows on their own merit is absolutely magical, and this video is an incredible debut for such a group. The muted colors paired with bold reds and glimmering metallics, the choreography that highlights the remarkable and unique skill sets of each member, the antidrop to end all antidrops, and the palpable joy of performing all the members have – it shook me to my bones. Every time I watch it, it feels like the first time I am seeing it, and my exuberance is unwavering.
