God, this is one of the most unsettling horror K-Pop videos of all time. Like, honestly, I don’t really know why this video has a lower maturity rating than “Now” by Trouble Maker or “I NEED U” by BTS – it’s on par with those when it comes to implications.
That said, I think “You In Me” does something interesting a lot of K-Pop videos don’t do explicitly – it incorporates transitions in the music into the story itself. When the music turns unsettling and dramatic, that’s when it turns from a somber romance video to a full scale horror. And it’s done in such a grounded way – it literally comes down to a few match cuts and crossfades. It’s so simple, but effective to the point that it will stick with your months.
