Ga-In, the youngest member of the group Brown Eyed Girls (more about them later) has always expressed herself in some of the most interesting and artistic ways. She has never shied away from making some of the rawest, most interesting videos ever. Combined with her incredible vocals, Ga-In’s works are never dull.
“Paradise Lost” is one of the most elegant videos in all of K-Pop – and it should be, it’s directed by an NYU alum. As the name suggests, the song is inspired by Milton’s Paradise Lost, which is channeled through the imagery, down to the choreography. Ga-In casts herself as the snake, making her the temptress, and Eve, making her the tempted. By juxtaposing the two, she captures complexity in herself, in a way that is extremely relatable. Combine that with a minimalist color palette and very dramatic shots, and you’ve got a masterpiece.
I honestly don’t have much to say about it. It’s just excellent.
