God, this video was pivotal in K-Pop. The fact that this hip hop group, that wrote mostly about how cool they were and about girls they thought were attractive, did something so raw…it unironically changed how K-Pop fans saw the genre’s potential. Non K-Pop fans would experience something similar with “Ditto” by NewJeans, but “I Need U” was where this phenomenon started. And what a phenomenon it has been.
